Imagine what the friends and family of the "man" must of thought when he sells all he has , to buy what appeared to be a baron field! "Excuse me...you're going to do what?!" This parable in the Gospel of Matthew 13 of the Hidden Treasure really is emblematic of a lost soul who stumbled upon the treasure of life, God's amazing gift to us, Jesus Christ! How absolutely magnificent and radically transforming the encounter is when you receive it! Although, up until the very moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are blind to the knowledge of that treasure! We don't see it, we see the baron field! We too look at that "man" like he lost his marbles for selling all his possessions for the land! Yet, he found the treasure and did anything and everything he had to, to keep it! Oh friend...there is nothing on this earth that can compare with the peace, joy and love that comes from above! A life touched by the Master 's hand is a forever changed life! Yet, there are saints of God who also have seen the treasure and still sadly choose not to give up the things that prevent them from receiving it! The illustration of the "man" selling and getting rid of everything in order to buy the land with the treasure shows us that we too must release those things in our life that prevent us from the fullness of that treasure ! Of course it makes perfect sense that "he" would sell it all... "he" knew he was going to have everything he needed with the treasure he had found and buried! We, too, know Christ is more than enough, yet we can hold on to other things that interfere with the blessing and liberty that comes from the treasure ! Tonight, let's ask our Heavenly Father to search our heart, to show us of any areas we have not released, then confess them and lay them down before Him! Philippians 3:18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. Thanks for letting me share , Randy Young
