![]() “Sweet dreams!” My mother used to say that to me as a child as her parting words after tucking me in for the night. Now all these years later, I hear myself and my wife say it to our youngest children. Yet, I know that “sweet dreams” don’t just happen because we hope they will…they happen because we have finished the day well. In this life there seems to be much more emphasis placed on how we start out, than on how we finish. Quiet Moments was specifically designed to be an end of day devotional time, rather than the start of the day morning devotional. After all, if you don’t finish well…it doesn’t much matter how you started! So before I shut down for the day, I make sure I am in harmony with my Heavenly Father. Sometimes, during these end of day moments He brings to mind something I need to handle before I go to sleep. You see, when I quiet myself down and have no agenda, or deadline to be somewhere... that is when I can listen to Him. Consider this, even the Devil himself started out well according to the Bible. Judas Iscariot was name one of the twelve disciples, and yet we know how he finished. Then there are those like the Apostle Paul who didn’t start out so well…yet finished in a blaze of glory! Tonight during these Quiet Moments before we close our eyes and hit the sack for the night, join me in opening our hearts toward heaven. Let’s lower all pretense, all walls, quiet ourselves down, and pray a humble prayer like King David did in the Psalms.. 139:23 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. In Jesus precious name, amen. Now let the "sweet dreams" commence! Thanks for letting me share. Randy Young
