Are you ready to weigh in like a prize fighter weighs in before a bout. For years and years I would avoid stepping on a scale. You see, I knew I wasn't living right and it wasn't going to be pretty so I didn't even want to know. The scale is a true reflection of where we are today physically, right now. It doesn't define us as to who we are, or what we are, or even what we are going through. It gives us information that is critical in managing our life today. (iceberg straight ahead) A great business CEO once said, "if you can't measure it, you can't manage it". Is it any wonder why the first thing every doctor does when you show up at their office is to have you step on the scale? It is a window into your possible condition. Some of us think we'll, I will hurry up and crash diet before I get on the scale-doesn't work. When we avoid the scale we can hinder or postpone a breakthrough in our life-instead if were not careful we can allow the enemy to keep us bound in shame, shackled in lies, etc. The fear of the unknown can be worse than the reality. Knowledge is power and what shows up on that scale is the equivalent of an indicator light in your car, you want to know when your car is overheating, or has low fuel, etc. it can be a powerful tool in helping prevent a greater problem. Some people view the Bible and God like they view their scale. They don't want to go near it. They are afraid of what they will hear or see. They have been lied to and kept in shackles of shame. I suppose in some ways the Bible is like a scale, it shows us our current condition. We have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23) yet unlike a scale, through God's son Jesus Christ we have the power to over come sin and death and no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and we are more than conquerors, and we are over-comers. (Romans 8:1) Friend, therefore there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ-don't allow your current mess to prevent you from entering into a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus. Don't try and lose weight before you step on the scale. Don't try and clean yourself up in your own strength before you call on Jesus. Tonight, right now, in your current place, we cry out to Jesus-Help us Lord, forgive us Lord, we need you Lord, we love you Jesus, Help!, come into our life, cleanse us, transform us, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Thanks for letting me share.
