Ever feel like you just don't have the energy to go another step? An important part of running a race is stamina. Meaning, " the ability to sustain prolonged physical effort." There are times when I just don't have enough in the tank to finish my workouts! I think to myself, "Randy what's your deal, you should be able to run these 2 miles no problem!" Yet, despite my mental pep talk, I have to walk the last quarter of a mile, because I am empty! Why is that? Friends, I can usually trace back my problem to poor diet, or lack of sleep the night before. You see my choices to cheat on my diet, or stay up later to work, etc. shows up on the treadmill. My body is only responding to those decisions I made earlier... by screaming: "there isn't enough in the tank to keep this up!" I got to thinking about how this analogy also correlates to our spiritual fitness. When we make poor choices throughout the day like not reading our Bible or praying, or willfully disobeying God's instructions to us, it leaves us ill prepared to face the rigors of this life, and all it throws at us. It is so important that we learn to plan for the day by obeying God each step of the way. I have found that if I will follow Him as he leads me each step of the way he will bring me to a place of total harmony...."a consistent, orderly, or pleasing arrangement of parts; congruity." Where we have the stamina to finish strong! 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith! Friends let's finish well! Thanks for letting me share. Randy Young.
