Do you feel like you are walking on a ledge?  Trying to balance your financial ledger?  On Quiet Moments Episode 6 Randy Young shares the Biblical account of the boy with two fish and 5 loaves.
It isn't enough to feed 5000!" I would of exclaimed to the disciple, who asked me for my 2 fish and 5 loaves, to feed 5000 people! Yet the boy freely gave all he had for Jesus to use. Not a single person (5000 people) left hungry. In fact, even after everyone ate to their hearts content, there were still 6 extra baskets full of fish and loaves of bread. After reading about that amazing miracle in the Gospels, It dawned on me that like that boy with the fish and loaves, Jesus is asking for what I have, so he can bless it! Unlike the boy who freely gave everything he had, I can be guilty of over- analyzing the details, and as a result resist giving by concluding that: "I don't have enough!" Then I miss out on the blessing. Yes, I miss out on the blessing. I am thinking of different circumstances of late where I have heard myself saying.. "I don't have enough time" to volunteer. Or, " it isn't enough money" to make a difference. "I don't have enough patience" to work with kids. Yet, if I had the faith like that child did, to hand over what I do have... to Jesus, He can bless it, multiply it, use it to bless others, and bring glory to Himself! I stand in awe of how that old story I have heard for 30 years could be made new for me, today!
