Guess who is listening in to your conversations? Let me give you a clue…. It’s a higher authority. Yes, the supreme authority for every man, woman and child. No, I am not talking about the government…even higher. The creator of the universe actually bends a knee to listen in when you talk about him to other believers. I love this!! The scripture says in Malachi 3:16 “Then those who feared the... Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said.” The phrase Malachi uses actually means to “bend his knee to listen in!” This is amazing to consider that God loves it when we are talking to each other about him! He cares so deeply for us and is so very interested in every facet of our life. I remember as a child when I had my dad or mom’s attention in the pool. I would yell “Dad or Mom…watch this!” I wanted to show them my new dive (belly flop) or how fast I could swim. Tonight, right now... God is alive, he has conquered the grave, and is actively pursuing you and me with his unfailing love and amazing grace. He desires intimacy with us and a personal relationship through his Son Jesus Christ. He also wants to bend a knee and listen in to our praise reports and testimony of how he provides in our life. He wants to hear us share our love and affection for him to others. Okay, let’s take a step back for a moment and consider that God used to hang out in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, and he really enjoyed their company. Wow! ARe you starting to see a pattern here! He loves you and me so much and he loves it when we fellowship with each other. It not only makes us feel better to share, but it pleases God! So, next time you are gathered with a friend or two and are tempted to just make small talk…consider changing the subject and start talking about how good our Lord is…his attributes, his promises, and what he is doing in your life. There’s nothing small about talk that God is bending his knee to listen to! Matthew 18:20 tells us “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Thanks for letting me share.
