This life can leave us feeling tossed and turned, confused about our purpose and future. Yet tonight, we can all be encouraged when we read Ephesians 2: "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. " Imagine that for a moment-- The God of the Universe prepared in each of us a purpose and a plan- in advance - for us to carry out. This work is from God, and the skills required to carry the work out come from God. That means you can’t do God’s work effectively in your own strength and power. It also means that you won’t be truly fulfilled and happy until you carry out God’s plan He predestined for your life. Are you going to find out what God has prepared for you to do? Where are you going to find that out? In college? In a skills assessment test?... How about asking Him who created you? If we were to consider any created object: take a tea cup, for example. The design of the cup, the handle, the purpose. It is clear: to hold tea or coffee. Now, when you consider that person who designed the tea cup from a hand drawn sketch, he or she envisioned that cup being used for a specific purpose, to hold tea, to keep it warm, to fit nicely in a hand, etc. So it was made and designed accordingly to those specifications. Now, if someone was to use that tea cup as a gardening tool…it probably wouldn’t be most effective. In fact it would chip, not dig properly, and be out of harmony, etc. Simply, it wouldn’t be doing what the creator envisioned it to be doing. Similarly, we were all uniquely designed and equipped with a personal set of skills and a unique purpose. Tonight, during these Quiet Moments let’s stop all the distractions, the noise, and seek our Heavenly Father, our Creator, and ask Him to fulfill His plan for our lives. Dear Lord, we humble ourselves before you. We let go of our own preconceived plans we have for our lives…and instead ask you for your will to be done. We make ourselves available to you and trust you with our future. Thanks for letting me share. Randy Young
