What's wrong with just accepting and living with the little "sins" that we are so apt to do? Because they are sins! We can become all too comfortable with our inherent propensity to sin, that we can start to reclassify them in our own life and in society in general if we're not careful, What happens? Maybe we take our eyes off God's standard in His Holy Bible and rather look all around us and see so many others doing as bad or worse than we are, so we figure we aren't that bad! Yes... we know the truth and yet we still might try and rationalize away our conscience...be careful, before long we can quench the Holy Spirit in our life. Here's a question for all of us. Does God look at His children and say, "well since most of you all are doing it, I guess it's okay then... ?" Of course not! The Bible says God is the same yesterday, today and forever! That means what he thought 2000 years ago about sin is the same today! Take a moment to consider that! What's so wrong with this "grading ourselves on a curve mentality?" I believe It stunts our growth as believers in Christ. It keeps us locked up in shackles of darkness and shame, while thwarting God's best for us. Plus, after a period of time we may no longer truly agonize over our sin, instead we are prone to wander away and off the straight and narrow and can be more apt to fall for untruths! Imagine actually thanking God for His "grace" while on our way to sin more! I used to be that guy! One of the biggest lies from the pulpit in some mega-churches has to do with this type of "grace theology" which is designed to liberate us from legalism and works but can do far more deleterious harm than good! For example...keeping God's children in denial and darkness and from bending a knee through confession with a broken and contrite heart. Personally, I am so thankful to take my heavy heart and conscience to my loving Father, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior and receive cleansing and forgiveness. Friend, how often do you bathe? That's how often we need to get cleansed ! This is a fallen world and we're not home yet! We need to keep our heart pure, ears open, and lips praising Him as we walk this road! Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Thanks for letting me share, Randy Young
Tired of watching yourself do the very things you don't want to do? Ever feel like despite your best intentions you just can't change? Then you find yourself ashamed for failing and falling? Before long this cycle can leave you completely hopeless and in despair! Friend tonight I want to ask you to reconsider your strategy. I want you to do something that will actually seem counter-intuitive. I want you to give up your futile fight! I want you to take a good, long look at the hurt and chaos around you and then raise your hands for help! You can spend every ounce of your own strength and energy swimming against the tide and guess what? You might barely keep above water for a time... ultimately though...you will drown! Tonight, there is a lifeline being offered to you and there is one way to receive it, you first have to recognize just how desperate you need it! Can I ask you why would you allow your life to be out of harmony with your Savior any longer? Why continue to drift further in further into despair? There is an answer, there is hope! Jesus Christ conquered death for you and me on that cross and He broke the shackles of shame and despair once and for all! It's time to accept this amazing gift by allowing Jesus Christ into your life through faith. It's not just an old "religious tale" This is a living "relationship" to tell... the world! Jesus is alive and there is victory in Him! Don't allow stubborn pride, false bravado, or unanswered questions to stand in the way of your lifeline tonight! Pray this prayer with me: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Lord Jesus, I ask you to be my Savior, to forgive my sins, to cleans me by the power of your blood shed for me on the cross. I ask you, Lord Jesus, to come into my life and be the Lord of my life. My life is yours to direct. Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to send your Holy Spirit to come live inside me to empower me to live for you and to teach me your will. I thank you for dying for me and saving me. I thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit and the guidance He will give to me. I thank you for adopting me as your son/daughter. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen." Thanks for letting me share, Randy Young
If you went to a fantastic movie this weekend would you let anyone know at work or school Monday? If you got engaged to be married would you share the news? Some people wonder why it is that us "Christians" can't stop talking about "religion" all the time. They some how incorrectly ascribe a false agenda to us. As if Christians have some strategy to "insert" Jesus' name into any random conversation for no rhyme or reason, only to guilt trip or judge them? They just can't understand that Jesus comes up so often in our conversations because Jesus is all-consuming to us... because we are in love with Him, and are so blessed by how He has rescued us and saved us! It never seizes to amaze me how apt a person is to want to soak up a wise crack, a random "weather" forecast, a dirty joke, a cigarette, or a free drink from a stranger. Yet, when it comes to Jesus... (even from a family member or friend) they are so resistant! " I'm not religious" they might say, or they may just walk away. Friend, may we always be full of His Spirit so He can shine through us and help us be bold and courageous in sharing the "good news" of the Gospel of Jesus! Remember there is a driving force working in opposition to the Spirit of God in us that desires to keep these poor souls in the dark and in shackles. Consider this, if we were in a safe shelter awaiting a tornado and saw a stranger walking outside in eminent danger what would we do? I hope we would open up and invite them in...to spare their life! Don't lose heart friend...keep sharing the fruit of a life changing "relationship" with Jesus while there is still time. Remember God loves them even more than we do.
I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. – Thanks for letting me share, Randy Young
"...Joy comes in the morning!" Friend, I want to encourage you to hold on, stand strong and keep on keeping on no matter what difficulty or challenging time you are going through. Sometimes when we are going through a season of difficulty we can feel all alone. It is so important to remember that we are never alone! God promises He will never leave us or forsake us and nothing can separate us from His love! Why is that important to know? Hope! Think about it for a moment, if you are in the presence of God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, would you feel despair and defeat over a particular challenge? I contend that you would not! In fact, you and I would assume some of that strength and power simply by association! Yet, for some we would rather suffer in private, enduring the pain in isolation. Maybe because we feel no one understands or we don't want to be judged? Just remember we may suffer, we may hurt and experience life's valleys, but no matter where you are, you can call out to the "Great Comforter!" He isn't called the "Great Confronter" for a reason, because He comes with grace, love, and understanding wanting to heal, help and restore. Nothing, absolutely nothing compares to God's love! Tonight Jesus is stretching out His arm toward you and I...asking us to grab His hand and He will lift us up and put our feet on stable, safe ground! Psalm 30;5 Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. Thanks for letting me share, Randy Young
